11th. Studying French and drawing, at conch blowing went down to dinner, ascended to our house, which is a very comfortable one, played at cards with my Father and went to bed.

12th. Lighted our lamp for the first time; all around is dark and quiet.

13th. I and one of Mr S's sons found a humming birds nest, with 2 beautiful little white eggs in it, my Father told me to take it, which I did.

14th. April Went out with Mr S. in his canoe again, he took with him his Allablaize and cooked some turtle, which was excellent.

15th. I can hear the baboons across the main land.

16th. A holyday given to all Mr S's people, I went fishing with Matchy.

17th. Sunday. Went with Mr S. fishing, caught several Tacks, Baracooters, King fish, Snappers, Tune fish, Groupers, Mullets and Tarpumes one of which weighed 30 lbs.

18th. Rain in the night, came down in torrents

19th. Dreadful toothache all night tobacco grows here all around us, on which the humming birds mostly feed.

20th. had 2 new pr of trousers made for me by Mr S's orders, my Father and I bathed in a river, we are afraid to go into the sea.
